Hello, my name is Niki Sato! I am a Fall 2023 graduate from New Hope Christian College.
I was a subpar Christian before attending NHCC. I thought I knew God’s full potential for myself, and I was wrong. Previously, I attended a secular college, and when I transferred to NHCC, I could see that the schools were as different as night and day. At NHCC, I was surrounded by professors who wanted to see me succeed spiritually and academically. Learning the Word of God from passionate professors with remarkable testimonies gave me hope that the Lord could turn my life around. Their patience and godly wisdom are what pushed me to complete my bachelor’s degree and be transformed as a leader for Christ.
I plan to use my bachelor’s degree in Ministry Leadership in Christian Counseling to counsel middle schoolers as I move to Las Vegas and serve with their youth ministry. Adolescents face numerous struggles like depression, abuse, and temptations, and since coming to NHCC, I have been able to spend time with the youth in our community and find my calling to help youth through these struggles. I strongly believe that the Lord is the best counselor because He has and continues to help me through my hills and valleys. Psalm 73:24 NIV says, “You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory.”
I am blessed to experience hands-on ministry alongside my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. I will cherish everything I learned from the professors during my time at NHCC, and I am thrilled to see how God will continue to work in me and through me.
