A Shot at Shaping Tomorrow – a Recap of the New Hope Classic

At 5:15am, the grass at Emerald Valley Golf Course was still wet with dew, but the team from New Hope Christian College was already in full swing. As dawn broke, they weren’t just setting up for another tournament—they were preparing to drive change. The New Hope Classic Golf Tournament, presented by Skeie’s Jewelers, was more than a game; it was a mission to raise $105,000 for student scholarships. We are in awe of the number of people who came together this year in support of our students and are beyond grateful for everyone’s investment in our future leaders.

Starting at 8am, golfers teed off in a 4-person scramble format. Each swing, drive, and putt carried a deeper significance, as all proceeds went towards NHCC student scholarships. The tournament wasn’t just a display of skill—it was an investment in the future leaders of the church.

Golfers were treated to a day of friendly competition, with awards for Men’s and Women’s Long Drive, Closest to the Pin, and Most Accurate Drive. The atmosphere was a blend of camaraderie and fierce competition, as teams vied for the coveted title of Team Champions.

Thanks to the generosity of sponsors at every level—from Title Sponsor Skeie’s Jewelers to individual golfers—this year’s event raised an impressive $105,000. These funds will provide vital scholarships to NHCC students, allowing them to pursue their education and ministry callings without the burden of financial stress.

We are extremely grateful for all of our new and returning sponsors! In addition to our Title Sponsor, we would like to thank the following sponsors: Tim Duncan Realty, New Hope West, Duane & Hollye Daggett, Wayne & Anna Cordeiro, Renew Lumber Co., 3rd Generation Paint, Pacific Region Open Bible, Rob & Erika Funk, Hawaiian Island Grill, Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt, M.S. Financial, Dairy Queen, Wise People Solutions, Dropsend.com, Summitt Bank, Rain Pro Media, Bohemia Mt Goods Co., Carpet Company (Daryl Egbert), Grafton Family, All American Forest Products, State Farm (Rob Olive), Tony & Codie Read, CW Walker, & Sapient.

By bringing so many businessmen and leaders from our community together, our interns at the event got to not only practice leadership in organizing an event, but they also got to connect with different people who can inspire and give advice to our students.

As the final scores were tallied and the awards were handed out, the real victory was clear: the future of the church is bright, thanks to the students whose education was made possible by this event. The New Hope Classic Golf Tournament is more than just a day on the green—it’s a testament to our commitment to equipping the next generation of leaders.
