Practicum

Available to all degrees, the practicum serves as a hands-on learning experience in diverse ministry fields. Students are able to hone their skills in live situations as well as grow in numerous other skills. Through partnering with our on-sight church, New Hope West, students are able to experience ministry and develop their talents in a wide variety of areas.

Bachelor of Science Ministry Leadership

(4-year program)

The four-year Ministry Leadership program is hands-on ministry training with individual mentoring. Students develop knowledge of God that is intimate and accurate and the ministry skill to affect others. Emphases include business administration, counseling, education, and pastoral ministry.

The Ministry Leadership degree program is designed to develop and prepare Christian leaders for both vocational ministry and marketplace positions in the world. Core Christian Ministry courses provide students with foundational knowledge and skills for effective Christian leadership while the various program concentrations offer students the ability to more narrowly focus professional education in their anticipated area of vocation.

Knowledge of contents and nature of the Bible
The ability to correctly interpret, understand, apply, and communicate Scripture using the
“historical-grammatical” approach
Ability to reason clearly and biblically about the Christian faith through an established
theological method
Develop implementable discipleship plans in the area of one's passions and giftings
The ability to communicate with an astute awareness in verbal and written form for the
purpose of leading others to deeper devotion to Christ
Observable program specific ministry skills of project executions, influence, and building
and leading teams
Visibly improved character

Bachelor of Science Creative Arts

(4-year program)

The four-year Creative Arts program combines the depth of academic rigor with the breadth of performance and practical experiences in drama, dance, instrumental, vocal, audio, visual, and video platforms.

It is our goal at New Hope Christian College to train up Creative Arts students who will discover their unique contributions in presenting the gospel in new and creative ways using the gifts and passions that the Lord has placed within them. To accomplish this goal, we have developed a cutting edge Creative Arts program that combines a strong biblical foundation with excellent teaching, practical training in ministry and deep, heartfelt communication of the Gospel that will reach minds and touch hearts for eternity. Entrance to the Creative Arts program is through invitation after having completed the application process. Each audition will require the applicant to demonstrate an intermediate to advanced level of proficiency in their platform of excellence. This ensures that performance standards are kept high and that CA students graduate as accomplished artists in their own field.

Four years of private, professional instruction in a platform of excellence: music, worship leading, drama, dance, media and production.
Highly qualified instructors with real-world experience in live stage and theater performance, composition, ministry, and church worship ministry.
Integration of current technology into all aspects of the Creative Arts program.
Cross-training in music, technology, dance, and drama built into every concentration.
Performance and outreach groups, as well as faculty/student, directed ensembles.

Associate of Science Ministry Leadership

(2-year program)

The two-year Ministry Leadership program sharpens students’ essential ministry skills through practical learning experiences and classroom instruction. Students graduate with the confidence and competence to make a difference in any church or parachurch organization.

The Associate of Science in Ministry Leadership provides a creative way for students to obtain their college education and immediately participate in biblically based and Spirit-empowered leadership in the church and the world. The curriculum challenges students to develop their critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making abilities and skills within the context of a biblical worldview and attitude of servanthood. Students will be guided to apply classroom theory and concepts and biblical knowledge to real life situations and practical ministry contexts.

Students who complete the program should achieve the following:
