Our 2023 New Hope Classic was a HUGE success! Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors for investing in our future leaders, we not only met, but exceeded, our goal of raising $100,000 for student scholarships finishing with a total gross income of $107,100!
This year’s sold-out tournament has helped to establish the New Hope Classic as a sought-after event in the Eugene area. Golfers arrived to a course filled with high-energy NHCC students who were excited to spend the day with their benefactors. After checking in and receiving their tournament hat, golf balls, and donuts, golfers gathered for a pre-tournament prayer with Pastor Wayne and then jumped in their carts to depart for their starting holes. The tournament itself was peaceful and laid back out on the beautiful Emerald Valley course, but there were a number of highly competitive teams eagerly vying for the first-place trophy. Overall, players praised the overall atmosphere of the tournament, from arrival to awards ceremony. Golfers felt that this tournament was a great day of fun golfing, but also appreciated the opportunity to interact with students and interact with other golfers.
For students, one of the highlights of the tournament was realizing that sponsors of the tournament are not just names and businesses who are investing in them, but these are their friends and mentors. Year after year, students look forward to this day to serve on the course and to spend time with their biggest supporters. Students consistently come back from the tournament thankful for the opportunity to not only give back to, but also build relationships with the people who have invested in their future by hanging out at the hole-in-one holes, driving around with snacks and beverages, setting up the course and tearing down, and eating lunch with golfers.
We would like to extend a special thank you to all of this year’s sponsors!

“Our annual golf tournament is always such a fun event to be part of! One defining factor of our golf tournament is the generosity of our sponsors. It’s an honor and privilege to serve those who believe in Pastor Wayne’s vision in investing in the next generation. Ultimately, it’s heart-warming getting the opportunity to see people from various backgrounds be part of a church & college event. Through this event they are able to experience the love of Jesus and what it feels to be welcomed home or to know that they have a place to come home to.”
