Extensions Pastor // Music & Creative Arts Instructor
Education: BMus in Piano Performance, University of Hawaii at Manoa
Experience: After a successful musical career as a pianist, music director, conductor/producer, I felt God directing me towards leadership in the local church. Now after 30 years of full time ministry and having served as: worship leader, music director, producer, associate pastor, church planter, executive pastor and a ministry consultant, I still love serving in the local church and creatively reaching people through creative presentations of the Gospel that touch hearts and change lives. I have served in a staff capacity in ten different churches in four states. In 2010, I was called to develop a new Creative Arts program for NHCC and in 2012, New Hope Eugene was launched as a lab church for students to experientially be trained in practical ministry. In 2020, I was part of the pastoral team that planted New Hope West which continues in the tradition of the lab church today. Coaching and mentoring leaders is about the greatest honor in the world, and I’m grateful to be a part of that.
About: I love attending concerts, musicals, theme parks, and basically anything that I can learn from and “borrow” to add to our creative toolbox. I’m the guy taking video of how the parking team at Disneyland gets in/out and out of the parking structures and getting a back stage tour of San Fransisco’s resident production of Hamilton - The Musical. I love to read and study leadership and have been SOAP journaling for 28 years! I am still married to my best friend Cindy, and have 4 children and three grandkids and a Bernese Mountain dog named Millie.
