Education: Doctor of Philosophy in Theology, Trinity Theological Seminary, Evansville IN

Experience: I grew up in the church and attended Portland Bible College where I met my lovely wife, Elaine. After starting a family, I felt a pull in a different direction and chose the US Army as my vocation. I spent twenty years in the Army, retiring in 2024. During that time, we lived all over the United States, and I was deployed three times to Iraq and Afghanistan. In 2021 I finished my PhD in theology, knowing that I wanted to teach at Bible College after my career in the Army. Theology is my passion, especially historical theology, and I love to share it with our students. I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of what God is doing at New Hope and want to remain willing for God to use me in any ways He chooses.

About: I love reading, heavy metal music, and golf (although I don’t play enough to be any good). I have been married now 26 years, and Elaine and I have five children of our own, and many others who have adopted us along the way. We attend new Harvest Church in Salem , Oregon.
