Education: Bachelor's Degree in Government from New Mexico State University with a Supplementary Major in Law & Society and a Minor in Criminal Justice. She also has a Law Degree from Indiana University, Bloomington.
Experience: Leslie is licensed to practice law in Mississippi and Hawaii. She practiced law in Gulfport, Mississippi prior to moving to Japan. In Japan, she found her love for teaching. She taught at the collegiate level at the University of Maryland. When the family moved to Hawaii, she continued teaching at Hawaii Pacific University and Leeward Community College. She also worked for NOAA on Ford Island as a project manager and grants officer.
About: Leslie lived in Hawaii for 20 years and likes to say that she is grafted in as a "local" from the islands. In 2019, God called her to Eugene to serve at NHCC where she enjoys investing in the next generation. If asked, she will say her greatest joy is being a Grandma to her 8 grandchildren whom she loves dearly. She loves traveling and new adventures.When she was younger, she climbed the Great Wall of China and Mt Fuji.
