Tommy Walker is a global worship leader, contemporary song-writer, and author. He has over 300 songs on CCLI. Some of Walker’s most well-known songs are “Lord I Believe in You,” famous by Crystal Lewis, “Only A God Like You,” “No Greater Love,” “Mourning Into Dancing,” “He Knows My Name,” and “That’s Why We Praise Him.”
Today, he continues his ministry in California at Christian Assembly, located in Los Angeles. Furthermore, he started a worship organization, Tommy Walker Ministries, that reaches people globally. His ministry’s mission is to make worship resources free and accessible to the world.
“We believe that if worship music is presented in a sincere, eclectic, excellent and beautiful way, believers and non-believers alike will be drawn to the presence of God and become aware that they were ultimately created to love, follow and worship Him.”
All the things he’s done have made an immense impact on those around him and others around the world. However, he couldn’t have done this all alone. He has partnered with his family to make all these things happen. Tommy and his wife, Robin Walker, have served at Christian Assembly since 1990. They have four amazing kids who all play a vital role in his ministry: Jake, Levi, Emmie, and Eileen. In fact, his daughter Emmie now joins Tommy on his tours and leads worship alongside him.
One of our previous students and staff members, Scotty Mearig, now serves under Tommy after moving down to California with his family.
“I’ve known about Tommy Walker and been a fan of his music and ministry since I was about 15 years old. I grew up playing his songs in church and some of them have become such an important part of my faith journey.
It is such an incredible thing to get to work with someone you’ve admired for most of your life; however, it’s even better to discover that their character and heart are just as impressive as their public image. I’ve come to learn that Tommy Walker is not only an anointed worship leader and an unbelievably talented musician, but he’s also a good man after God’s heart. I’m so grateful to play in his band for this summer concert!”
