SOAP Devotional by Hunter Griffin (Freshman at NHCC)

Scripture:

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

— Psalm 23:4 (NIV)

Observation:

Even as we enter moments where the devil tries to tempt us or discourage us, we can stand strong. God is with us, and He will protect us. His presence brings comfort even in the darkest valleys.

Application:

There may be moments when the enemy tries to fill our minds with lies or lead us into sin. But we must remember that God is our rock. He is our protector and has a plan for each of us. He loves us enough to want a relationship with us, and He will never leave us to face the darkness alone. Trusting in God’s presence allows us to walk through trials with peace and confidence.

Prayer:

Father God, thank You for being the light in our darkest moments. Thank You for the love You have for us and the plans You’ve put in place for our lives. I pray that no matter how bad a situation may seem, or how much the enemy tries to steer us away from You, we will fix our eyes on You and lean on You for guidance. Help us to remember that You are always near, and You will carry us through. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
