“Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples!” 1 Chronicles 16:8
Thanksgiving Day is a time for loved ones to come together and celebrate the bounty of the harvest. Most Americans do not farm or harvest their own food anymore, but the sentiment is the same—we are thankful. Celebration for the harvest is a long-standing tradition. God instructed the Israelites to have specific feasts throughout the year. One such feast is Sukkot-The Feast of Tabernacles. Leviticus 23:39 directs the Israelites to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles in the seventh month on the fifteenth day after they have gathered the crops. The seventh month according to the Hebrew calendar is in the fall during the main harvest season. The Israelites were to, “rejoice before the Lord your God for seven days” (Leviticus 23:40). Here at New Hope Christian College, we too rejoice before the Lord our God. Thanksgiving is a wonderful opportunity to show our thanks to God for all that he has done over the last year.
We rejoice before God for the bountiful harvest he has provided. God has done many things in the hearts and lives of the students, staff, and faculty at NHCC. Collectively, God changed the hearts of the students and staff through the on-campus Spiritual Growth Conferences held every semester. This semester the students went out into the community specifically to pray for and minister to the people they met. We had students participate in mission trips, staff members celebrating wedding anniversaries of 25 years as well as new marriages, faculty celebrating the arrival of new babies, a campus that is evolving in spirit and character, and so much more! Students, staff, and faculty have all experienced their hearts and lives being changed by the power of the Holy Spirit through what God does here at NHCC. God has been blessing the campus through generous donors. The generosity that has been shown to NHCC has filled us with overwhelming gratitude. We were able to make necessary updates to Flint Memorial Library turning it into a resource and media building providing space for the students to be creative in their studies. As staff and faculty, we are consistently thankful to God for allowing us to mentor the next generation of leaders here at NHCC. Our hearts are full of gratitude to the living God for all he has done, is doing, and will do.
From our heart to yours, Happy Thanksgiving!

Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.
Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”
(Mark 12:41-44 NIV)
Giving looks different for everyone, but as Christians, whatever we are giving, we are ultimately giving to the Lord. On campus, we are privileged to see many different forms of giving. We are blessed by our students who give their hours and attention to serving their community as well as their future. Our staff walk with our students and do life with them, giving their skills and experience to invest in the future generation of leaders. We also have many thanks to give to our donors who make this learning possible for our students through generous financial investments.
In this season of giving, we would love to encourage you to give your resources to the Lord and see how he blesses your Kingdom investment through New Hope Christian College. Whether you are giving in prayer, time, ministry, or financially, we know that God will anoint your gift.

Being able to receive scholarships and internships, completely changed my learning experience. Instead of working off-campus to try to make ends meet, I was able to focus on learning on-campus with my mentors while earning my degree. Now, I have graduated and am doing my best to continue this investment by investing my time and efforts into following after the Lord and advancing His Kingdom.

Thanks to your support, you have lightened my financial burden, and that allowed me to focus more on the most important aspect of school, learning. Your generosity has inspired me to help others and give back to the community.
