Growth Through Relationships

Hi there!

My name is Abby Galvez, and I am a student here at New Hope Christian College. My focus is in Business Administration, and I will be a junior this upcoming fall. I’ve also been leading as a Communications Director for the Student Body. During my time here, I’ve had hands-on training in many ministries including communications as well as youth and children’s ministry. Within these ministries, I’ve also built strong relationships with staff and my peers.

Another way I’ve built strong relationships is through Life Groups. Every student is assigned to a small group leader and our leaders invest their time and attention in our growth both academically and spiritually. My life group has helped me to really grow in confidence as well as find friends and a mentor that I trust.

My time here has been fruitful, and I have witnessed God change the culture in this campus, especially within the dorm life. As an on-campus student, I got to really do life with the other students. Our women’s dorm holds monthly events like worship nights, spa nights, and even impromptu sleepovers that bring us closer to God and to each other as sisters.

Just like how the seasons change here in Oregon, God has been faithful to me during the changing seasons in my life. Coming to New Hope Christian College was one of the greatest blessings, and I have grown so much being here. Not only have I built relationships with the staff and students that will last me a lifetime, but I have also developed my relationship with God and even got baptized recently! I hope you get the chance to be here and experience a life-changing opportunity in your walk with God.
