Our camp theme for this year is Deeper, and we are challenging campers to grow in their faith and gain an understanding of what it means to grow deeper with Christ. Camp is always such a memorable time where relationships are built, faith is developed, and where God is able to move in and through the lives of our youth. I know my life was significantly changed at camp, and the relationships I’ve built and truths that I learned still resonate with me today. It is because of the love and relationships from the leaders that I am where I am today.
We live in a very surface-level world. It’s all about image, what you look like, what you’re wearing, things that are trending, and what the world says is “in”. These are all things that are shallow and only cover the surface. There are so many things that the world claims to be true, and as opinions change, these things are constantly changing. When we put our identity into these surface level things, we have no solid foundation. There are so many outside influences, opinions, and lies told in the world and it can have a detrimental effect on our lives if we don’t establish deep roots in Christ and His Truth.
God has been doing such amazing things in our youth ministry, and God has brought transformation in our youth. In fact, 20 of our campers have RECEIVED JESUS at this year’s Middle School Deeper Camp, and it is all thanks to our amazing team who have said YES to the call that God had for them to serve, the heart they put into this camp, and the transformative power of God. We also couldn’t have done it without the abundant support we have received from our New Hope West family. We are so passionate about raising up the next generation, and we can’t wait to see what God does in the lives of our youth.
