Steps Student Employment

Anyone interested in receiving federal grants, work study, loans or scholarships must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

The work study program offers students the opportunity to work in various positions on campus to help pay the costs of their education. Positions are 10 hours per week and include areas such as clerical support, maintenance, food service, library, and janitorial. Positions are limited, so apply early.

Some of the Work-Study Positions

Library: Various duties include cataloging, shelving, cleaning, and assisting patrons. Applicant must be detail-oriented, organized, and dependable. Job requires use of library specific software, training will be provided. Sunday-Saturday.

Facilities: Duties include setting up tables and chairs and preparing classrooms for daily use, vacuuming and cleaning offices & library, breaking down classrooms and storing tables and chairs, and other duties as needed. Monday-Friday.

Food Service: Duties include working in the Cafeteria or Student Café preparing and serving food to students, staff and campus visitors. Food Handlers' card is required. Schedule limited to regular dining hours. Sunday-Saturday.

Bookstore: Manage used book inventory, tracks sales, package and ship books daily or as needed. Attention to detail and follow through a must. Schedule is flexible and driven by sales/shipping requirements. Monday-Friday.

Multimedia/IT: Various duties in areas of IT and multimedia including videographer, editing, filming classes, and working on IT network requirements. Work will be limited to specific areas and hours in filming of classes. Must have some experience in these fields.
