PORTLAND – Freshman guard Corey Gantt exploded for a season high

PORTLAND – Freshman guard Corey Gantt exploded for a season-high 36 points in
leading New Hope Christian to an 82-64 road victory over Portland Bible College in
men’s basketball on Monday January 9th. Gantt shot 16-0f-24 from the field, and 3-
of-7 from the line to pace three Deacons’ starters in double figures.

Freshman center Forest Stolk added 19 points, 11 rebounds and two blocked shots
for New Hope. Also in double figures was freshman Harley Turner with 14 points.

Deacons’ teammate Quincy Alexander dished off a season-high 11 assists, while
recording four of the Deacons’ eight steals, and added two points. The Wildcats
countered with 32 points from Tim Mahan, and seven of his ten made field goals
were from beyond the perimeter.

The Deacons improved to 4-16 overall and 1-1 in the Pacific Coast Athletic
Conference; New Hope returns home Thursday for a 7:30 p.m. game against La
Sierra University from the Rexius Events Center in NHCC’s home opener of the 2012
portion of its schedule and its first PCAC conference home debut. West Coast Bible
visits the REX on Friday evening, January 13th for a 7pm scheduled game.
